HOLIDAY HOPE BOXES & GIFTS
Give the gift that gives hope and brings joy that surpasses all understanding. You can change a family’s future with gifts especially for them. Without a doubt, a lot of the stresses and financial burden that can come with the holidays can cross over into the relationships during this time. According to statistics, domestic abuse increases over the holidays, for several reasons:
- Stress from holiday shopping, finances, and planning can aggravate volatile personalities.
- Abusers are more likely to partake of alcohol or drugs when they do not have to work.
- Simple opportunity: abusers are more likely to be home alone with their victims than at other times of the year.
HELP SAVE A LIFE – SECURE THE CALL
Do you know someone who has an old phone or tablet sitting in a drawer, closet, or garage that they will never use again? Collect old cell phones and donate them to 4 THE JEWEL N U as part of our participation in the Secure the Call Campaign for the past 5 years. Secure the Call will inspect them and select the used phones that work well enough to be reused. Phones will be processed and packaged with chargers so that they can be immediately reused to acquire 911 services. Finally, they will ship them back to our agency to be redistributed to individuals who are not only in need but at a substantial risk for needing emergency services.
THE JEWEL PERSONAL HYGIENE PROJECT – FAMILY SIZE ITEMS NEEDED!
4 THE JEWEL N U have been supporting families forced to leave everything behind because of a life-threatening situation, and oftentimes during the stillness of the night to seek safe shelter, since 2014. The items that you collect will be donated to a local elementary school serving displaced children in our area.
